Technological Shift - Encyclopedia Vs Wikipedia!

He was so upset after pulling in the driveway
Came home from class that day
Mad as a Russian Bear, slammed his book bag
Down of the floor, yanked the refrigerator door,
Grabbed a beer, sat and the couch, and screamed.
"What's the matter...?"
"Leave me alone for a while I am a little..."
After two beers he was like water and decided to talk,
Professor marked up his paper because he
Used Wikipedia for two citations instead
Of a legitimate encyclopedia;
"You should not use Wikipedia
The professor said rubbing his bald head,
I can't figure out where his head it located!"
Later he was on the phone talking back and forth
With some classmates,
Some of them have decided to file
A joint complaint with the provost office;
"The professor is wrong, he is old fashioned!
We must stop this abuse!" They agreed.
Four of them came with laptops, took over the kitchen,
And dining room table; their finger started
Buzzing on the keyboards like flying bees in a hive,
"They are old fashioned, in fear of letting go of
Their old ways, they are trying to hold on to nothing."
The chattering continued:
"When telegraph died
They blamed the newspapers,
When the newspapers died they blamed
The Internet, now they want to blame
Wiki for the death of the en-psycho-clops,
This is like science versus religion,
It's not the end of the news,
What if we had cited the source from television CBS news?"
They wanted my opinion,
I did not know what to say; see, back in my day
We had a shoe box with 3 by 5 cards
In the library, we also had typewriters with rounds keys
We had to retype a paper several times
And the spellings were still wrong.
It's not like what they do now with these laptop computers
So I had no idea what they were talking about.
But guess what? "No one told us that we
Had to stay in the shoe box!"
